Department of Agriculture Photographs

Please do not use the browser "Back" button while navigating the database pages.

This database indexes 7,160 photographs from the Department of Agriculture Photograph collection held at the New Jersey State Archives.  Currently, just over 4,000 photographs have scanned images available.  To view the collection guide, click here [pdf].

Records may be searched by any combination of keyword, location, photographer, subject heading, corporate name and/or year. Please note that if you type a phrase into the text search, the database will only retrieve records that have those words directly adjacent to each other (similar to using quotes around a phrase in other search engines). To broaden a search, put only one search term in each box.

Clicking on the subject links within each record will reset the search to retrieve all images with that subject heading.

High resolution scans burned to CD may be purchased for all previously scanned images, and preview scans may be requested of unscanned images for a fee. Reproduction prints are also available.

  • The selected list appears at the bottom of the search results.
  • To order electronic scans and/or prints click on "Add to Cart." Follow subsequent instructions to complete your order. You may select up to 5 photos per order. Payment by credit card is not available for this collection.
  • You may also contact the Archives for additional reproduction and reference services.
